14 New Primary Care Centres To Be Developed In Ireland

A total of 14 new primary care centres are to be developed across Ireland.

50 per cent of the funding will be provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the balance is being provided by the Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi UFG (BTMU) and Talanx Asset Management.

The new centres will be located at:

• Ballymote, Co Sligo

• Boyle, Co Roscommon

• Claremorris, Co Mayo

• Westport, Co Mayo

• Ballinrobe, Co Mayo

• Tuam, Co Galway


• Limerick City, Co Limerick

• Carrick-on-Suir, Co Tipperary

• Dungarvan, Co Waterford

• Waterford City, Co Waterford

• Wexford Town, Co Wexford

• Kilcock, Co Kilkenny

• Summerhill Dublin North Inner City

• Coolock/Darndale, Dublin North City

The Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform, Paschal Donohoe T.D.,said: "I am very pleased that another important milestone in the Government's programme of Public Private Partnership projects has been reached today, with the financial close of this first PPP in the Health sector. This project will deliver 14 new primary care centres at locations spread across the country, supplementing those additional centres already being provided directly by the HSE with Exchequer resources. The success achieved in concluding the contract for this PPP will also pave the way for further PPPs in the Health sector in the future."
