Harland and Wolff Contract Welcomed

A Harland and Wolff multi-million pound deal to provide parts for a wind farm has been welcomed by alliance MLA Chris Lyttle.

The new contract will also create 80 jobs.

The East Belfast manufacturer will produce suction buckets for the Borkum Riffgrund wind farm off the coast of Germany and provide a foundation for the offshore green energy-producing structures.

Mr Lyttle said: "The award of this contract is testament to the industrial heritage of Harland and Wolff and the skills and capacity for innovation of everyone at this company.

"I congratulate all the staff at Harland and Wolff and wish them every success for the completion of this exciting contract."
