The former Dún Laoghaire Golf Club pavilion is to be torn down to make way for the second phase of a housing development.
An Bord Pleanála has given consent for Cosgrave developments to build 384 new homes on the site which dates back to 1910.
The firm bought the golf club site for €20m in 2002 in addition to a 27-hole course at Ballyman Glen.
Work has begun on much of the former golf course, which is bisected by the Glenageary Road.
According to The Irish Times close to 1,500 homes are planned for the 78-acre site, the development plans include offices, retail units & an eight-acre park with a lake.
