HES Signs Deal With Airtel In Nigeria

HES Signs Deal With Airtel In NigeriaHybrid Energy Solutions Ltd (HES), the Irish based energy provider, announced details of its DC Hybrid Energy Station deal with Airtel in Nigeria.

The announcement was made during the recent Enterprise Ireland trade mission to South Africa and Nigeria led by Minister for Trade and Development, Mr. Joe Costello, TD.

The deal will enable Airtel, the world's 3rd largest mobile phone provider, to improve its network availability and massively reduce operating costs. Hybrid Energy Solutions and Airtel, along with Hybrid's local partner on the ground - 'Eureka Power' will invest up to $50m to upgrade and optimize the power supply to Airtel’s Nigerian network.

Welcoming the announcement at the Four Point by Sheraton Hotel in Lagos, the Minister for Trade and Development, Mr. Joe Costello, T.D. said: "I am delighted to be here in Lagos leading the first major trade mission to Nigeria to announce this significant deal between an Irish company Hybrid Energy Solutions and Airtel Nigeria. It's great to see innovative Irish companies winning business in competitive international markets. This deal will result in the creation of new jobs in Ireland in the coming 12 months."
