The Minister for State at the Department of Health and Children, Kathleen Lynch, congratulated local HSE management on the provision of this new state of the art facility in Donegal.

She said: "The perception of an institutional style mental health service, standing in isolation and closed from the rest of the community, is thankfully becoming a thing of the past” said the Minister. The shift in the delivery of services from predominantly hospital-based care to a community care based service has been successful. The quality of care for persons with a mental illness has been greatly enhanced by this development and has had a positive impact not only for them but also for their families and for the community."
