Founded in 1986 as D. Waldie Crane Hire and operating one crane, we steadily established a loyal customer base. We opened our office in Dumbarton in 1994 and in 1999 changed our name to Caledonia Crane & Plant Hire Ltd.
In 2021 we added a satellite depot in Bellshill to allow easier access to the M74 & M8 motorway network.
We offer a variety of cranes from 7Te to 130Te capacity on CPA Crane Hire or Contract Lift Basis. We also supply Appointed Persons, Crane Supervisors and Slingers.
Operating from Depots in Dumbarton and Bellshill, we are located to service Central Scotland, Argyll and the Western Highlands and Islands.
We supply Crane Hire & Contract Lifts to the Commercial and Domestic Market, whether it be erecting steel or installing a hot tub, we can provide the cranage and manpower to carry out your lifting requirements “Safely”.
Crane Hire
Caledonia Crane & Plant Hire offer crane hire on a CPA Crane Hire or CPA Contract Lift Basis, unsure what you require … just ask.
We currently operate cranes from 7Te capacity to 130Te capacity. We also offer Appointed Person, Crane Supervisors and Slingers for hire. We offer free on site surveys within 50 mile radius.
CPA Crane Hire
If you choose CPA Crane Hire, you will be provided with both a crane and a crane operator. With CPA Crane Hire, you will not receive a Crane Supervisor, Slinger/Signaller, or an Appointed Person. You are responsible for ensuring the crane is suitable, that the work is carried out to LOLER 1998 and BS 7121 standards, and for checking the credentials of the crane hire company and crane. You are responsible for planning and executing the lift.
CPA Contract Lift
With a CPA Contract Lift, you are essentially hiring not just a crane but a company to organise the entire lift. All you are responsible for providing is the necessary information for the lift to be planned, such as the items that need to be lifted, the site conditions, the ground conditions, etc. This information must be accurate.
