We specialise in the manufacture and installation of Traditional Timber Box sash sliding windows which meet the latest compulsory standards.

These sliding sash windows are suitable for use in historic/ listed buildings or in conservation areas. Modern sash windows are also available for new contemporary buildings.

Our windows are made up of two double glazed sashes, which slide vertically in a timber frame supported either on cords balanced with concealed lead weights or on spiral spring balances (a modern innovation which replaces the original lead weight system).

In windows with spiral balances, the sashes can be made to tilt as well as slide which is beneficial for cleaning purposes. There are a number of options available with our windows such as glazing bars, Ovalo or Lambs tongue moulds as well as a range of skirtings,architraves and soffits to complete the package.

Windows come to you factory finish sprayed (normally white) to a high standard, but we also offer alternative colours and can even offer the option to have different colours inside and out. Where required, glass can be toughened both for safety and security as well as being fitted from the inside making it extreemely difficult to break in as the glazing cannot be removed from outside.

Why timber?

The use of timber is in keeping with original character and adds warmth and durability to your home. More recently trends are turning back towards traditional values in house building and DIY circles and it is generally felt.that replicating original features such as timber windows adds value to your home.

What do we use?

Oak is used for the sill and Pine for the window. We use laminated triple-layer wood. Three layers are used because this technology prevents the window frame from warping and increases the lifespan of the windows.
