About Magply

As a high performance, multi-functional board, Magply features a modified magnesium oxide formulation, offering a fire-safe and environmentally friendly alternative to conventional plywood or OSB products in timber frame construction particularly where the project is in close proximity to another property. Additionally, the unique production process of Magply keeps the chloride content to just 0.01%: enhancing stability as well as long-term durability and thereby avoiding the problems associated with other Mg O products.

Crucially, Magply carries internationally recognised accreditations confirming the boards’ ability to deliver 90 minutes integrity and insulation under test conditions. Furthermore Magply offers excellent racking strength, impact as well as pull-out resistance, and all round ease of use in a variety of applications.

As a high quality, multi-functional board, Magply is manufactured under a strictly controlled ISO 9001 production process, which helps guarantees consistent performance, leading to its use as for sheathing, sarking and in the fabrication of spandrel panels. Magply is approved for use in the latter application with one 9mm board being fixed on each side of an uninsulated spandrel frame, tested to BS 476 (Part 22)1987. Under EU Regulations Magply has been classified as Euroclass A1 and has been certified as Class 0 for the surface spread of flame.

Off-site manufacturing is proving increasingly popular within the education, student accommodation, hospital and the leisure sectors. The Magply Euroclass A1 board can be used in most Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) including for a fire mitigation sheathing board across timber frame, steel frame & SIP panel production.

Magply is also ideally suited to dry-lining specifications, which require rapid installation, lower weight, and breathability, combined with fire protection. Boards are manufactured in standard 1200mm x 2400mm dimensions at thicknesses of 6, 9, 12 or 18mm, while bespoke sizes are available to order.

In addition to its all-round physical benefits including strength, rigidity, durability, moisture tolerance and fire resistance, Magply also offers specifiers very good acoustic characteristics – making it the most versatile and cost effective panel product, matching the widest possible range of technical challenges.
