Chemique Adhesives announces latest expansion news.
Following continued year-on-year growth, Chemique Adhesives, a UK manufacturer of industrial adhesives and supplier of adhesive application equipment, has implemented its expansion plan and moved into a new 1200m2 facility. The new unit is being utilised for raw material and finished goods storage, and extra racking has also been installed, creating over 700 pallet spaces.
The new storage facility has allowed for additional space to be created in production areas, where newly purchased state-of-the-art mixers have been installed, leading to an increase in manufacturing output.
The new mixers will enable the production of new and toll-manufactured products ranging from filled 1K and 2K PU, structural PU, hot melt, epoxy, and various water-based formulations.
The expansion has also included a new QC laboratory, along with the upgrading of fume and powder extraction systems in production and laboratory areas.
Simon Cashmore, operations manager at Chemique Adhesives, commented, “We have made a significant investment in new equipment, and the expansion of our premises demonstrates our commitment to growth and our dedication to providing quality products for our valued customers. Following the approval of planning permission, a proposal is already in place for 2024 to source more equipment and increase our bulk storage capacity further, improving efficiencies, reducing various waste streams, and increasing productivity.”

Chemique Adhesives launches new one component pedestal adhesive
Chemique Adhesives has recently developed a one component pedestal adhesive
that has been specially formulated for bonding raised flooring pedestals to concrete subfloors.
Accreditations for Polyped 1 pedestal adhesive include ‘Indoor Air Comfort
Gold’, ‘EMICODE at EC1 Plus’ and ‘BREEAM International’.
Requiring no mixing, this moisture curing polyurethane adhesive has been developed for
pedestal installation and repair / refurbishment applications. The adhesive exhibits a thixotropic
nature which helps to gap fill voids between substrates, whilst maintaining the integrity of the
bond.
"We have been working on the development of a new pedestal adhesive that was safer for the
user, whilst still focusing on quality.” commented Stuart Francis, Managing Director of Chemique
Adhesives. “This new updated formula is low hazard, meaning that the adhesive fulfils the
requirement of lower emissions and contributes to a safer working indoor environment.”
Polyped 1 offers superior adhesion to galvanised and non-galvanised pedestals as well as

Chemique Adhesives golf event proves a swinging success
A golf event was recently organised in memory of a well-respected ex-colleague, Robbie Howe who sadly passed away in 2018. The event took place on the 12th and 13th June 2022 at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club and was attended by customers and colleagues - both past and present.
A total of three teams battled it out during the two day event and the overall winners, made up of Chemique colleagues were Justin Clark – Business Development Manager, Simon Cashmore – Operations Manager and Tony McMullen – President of Chemique Adhesives Inc.
Stuart Francis, Managing Director at Chemique Adhesives commented: “This is the third golf event that has been organised in Robbie’s honour and it was a great success. Raised access flooring provides an elevated structural floor above a solid substrate (often a concrete floor) to create a hidden void for the passage of building services such as cabling, electrical power and HVAC systems. This type of flooring system is widely used in a variety of buildings including modern offices, data centres, server rooms, call centres and retail premises. After an application of floor sealer, metal pedestals are then bonded to the sub-floor and the access floor panel is securely fitted on top of the pedestal.
Properties of raised access floor adhesives

Chemique Adhesives helps boost efficiency for garden room manufacturer
Future Rooms based near Gloucester, design, manufacture and install a stunning range of garden rooms that create space and style in any garden. Their garden rooms offer a low maintenance, easily installed, cost-effective solution to improving a home by creating additional family or leisure space.
Until recently, Future Rooms were buying SIP panels that were ready built from an outside source. A SIP Panel, or sandwich panel as they are also known, is an insulating layer of rigid core insulation adhered to two layers of structural board. It is then pressed together under a uniform force until the adhesive has set, resulting in an extremely strong structural insulated panel (SIP).
In 2019, Future Rooms decided to take full control of their production costs and build their own SIP panels onsite, which are used in the manufacture of their garden room and office range.
“We wanted a partner that could offer a complete package to assist us in manufacturing the panels,” explained Richard Kocerhan, Owner and MD of Future Rooms. “Chemique were able to provide extensive knowledge in panel lamination, recommend the correct adhesive, as well as supply the most suitable adhesive application equipment for the job.”
“Following an initial meeting, it became apparent that a degree of semi-automation was required for making the panels and so we trialled our portable rake system in conjunction with a single component, moisture curing polyurethane adhesive from our Solfre range,” said Phil Carter, Chemique Adhesives Business Development Manager.
This was the perfect combination and allowed Future Rooms to efficiently produce high quality laminated panels with an easy to use and cost-effective dispensing system. This method also reduces waste and is much cleaner and user friendly compared to more traditional methods of manual application.
The adhesive used with the rake system is Solfre1 – a single component, solvent-free polyurethane product. Solfre1 is suitable for a variety of applications such as construction panels, truck building, caravan panels and many similar uses where a permanent structural bond is required. Its unique formulation provides superior resistance to chemicals, heat, humidity and thermal shock.
Chemique Adhesives also has a team of service engineers on hand, providing assurance that in the event of a breakdown, this can be dealt with quickly and efficiently. Bonding solutions for honeycomb sandwich panels
Sandwich panels can be formed by bonding two thin skins to a honeycomb core and our Solfre2 honeycomb adhesive ensures that the two skins are structurally adhered to the core, therefore creating an exceptional bond strength.
