Scannell Safety Services Ltd is a Cork based company, specialising in Health & Safety Training for all sectors. While based in Cork, we have worked with clients from all over Munster, offering training and advice in all areas of training and safety.

We work with individuals and companies of all sizes, from sole traders, to large businesses. In the past we have provided training for a broad range of customers, such as building contractors, manufacturers, wholesale suppliers and many more. Safety Statements
Section 20 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires that an organisation produce a written programme to safeguard the safety and health of employees while they work and the safety and health of other people who might be at the workplace, including customers, visitors and members of the public.

Risk Assessments
Section 19 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 requires that employers and those who control workplaces to any extent must identify the hazards in the workplaces under their control and assess the risks to safety and health at work presented by these hazards.

Method Statements
Also, referred to as a safe work method statement or SWMS or a safe work procedure, is a part of a workplace safety plan. Primarily used in construction to describe a document that gives specific instructions on how to safely perform a work related task, or operate a piece of plant or equipment.

Harness Inspections
Fall Protection Equipment is required to be thoroughly examined on a regular basis and at a minimum of every 6 months. A thorough examination is also required after circumstances that may be liable to have affected the integrity and safety of the FPE.

MANUAL HANDLING
Providing instruction and training to relevant staff is a requirement outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, Regulations 2007, that must be adhered to in relation to manual handling.

The aim of our Manual Handling Training Course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to lift and move loads in accordance with good manual handling techniques.

ABRASIVE WHEELS
Our Abrasive Wheels Training Course is to provide participants with the knowledge, skills and understanding of all aspects of working with abrasive wheels from the hazards and dangers to the correct mounting, setting and usage.

MOBILE ELEVATED WORK PLATFORMS (MEWPS)
Our Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) training course is to provide participants with the essential knowledge and skills required to operate various types of MEWPs efficiently and safely.

HARNESS TRAINING
The aim of this course is to provide participants with the knowledge and skills needed to work safely at height and use of fall arrest equipment.

It is a half day course, delivered by a certified trainer, through a combination of classroom based tutorials and practical training.

BASIC FIRST AID
This Basic First Aid course is designed to develop the knowledge and skills of the participants to administer basic first aid in an emergency situation. It is a full day course, delivered by a certified trainer, through a combination of classroom based tutorials and practical training.

CARDIAC FIRST RESPONDER TRAINING
Our Cardiac First Responder training course will provide attendees with the knowledge and skills to respond and assist with a life threatening medical emergencies such as choking, cardiac arrest and stroke. Attendees will gain skills in the basic life support in CPR with knowledge in use of an AED/defibrillator.
