BMCD Safety Training is based in Co. Cork and is run by Barry McDermott who is a qualified level 6 QQI training instructor and has 8 years experience working as a strength and conditioning coach. I provide manual handling, working at heights and abrasive wheel training courses around North Cork.

My Manual Handling Training Course will cover a wide range of industries, like construction sites, organisations, manufacturing, the care industry, hotels, offices and factories. The course will not only focus on manual handling and lifting techniques, it will also cover the process of risk assessment and the reduction of manual handling activities. It will also teach you to have the knowledge and understanding to find hazards in any of the workplaces, giving an informed decision about the tasks that will be undertaken.

Manual Handling – Online Safety Course
Providing instruction and training to relevant staff is a requirement outlined in the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, Regulations 2007, that must be adhered to in relation to manual handling.

Working at Heights – Online Safety Course
This Working at Height training course, helps you to comply with the Work at Height Regulations 2005. This course provides employers and employees with the necessary information needed to be able to successfully deal with, working at height risks and control measures. This course is designed to give participants an awareness of the dangers of working at heights.

Harness Safety – Online Safety Course
The aim of the Harness Safety online training course is to ensure that anyone who uses safety harnesses and lanyards has a comprehensive understanding of the different types available, together with the appropriate Health and Safety knowledge involved in Safety Harness and Lanyards training.

Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) – Online Safety Course
This course is for anyone who may be required to operate Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs). This course will train you to prepare and safely operate various types of MEWPs.

Abrasive Wheel Training – Online Safety Course
This abrasive wheels training course is legally required for all those who are involved in the selection, storage & handling, mounting, dressing and use of abrasive wheels. This course is designed to instruct participants in the theory and practice of safe use of Abrasive Wheels to comply with the “Abrasive Wheels Regulations 1982” (SI 30 / 1982).

Asbestos Awareness Online Course
This concise online course equips participants with essential knowledge about asbestos, focusing on its identification, hazards, and safe handling practices. You’ll learn where asbestos is found, the health risks it poses, and the necessary safety measures, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). The course also covers legal guidelines for managing asbestos safely.
