Reviews & Testimonials for Doyles Designs
We recently moved into a new property and contacted Tony regarding work we were hoping to have completed. Initially, the communication was excellent. Tony came out to the house, gave us lots of ideas and advice, and we were very impressed with the service at that stage.
We were told that dates were filling up quickly and being pushed further and further back, and we felt pushed to send €1,000 by Revolut in order to secure our date. We were reluctant to do this as our plans were dependent on planning permission, which had not yet been finalised. We raised this concern at the time and were reassured that this would not be an issue, that the date could be flexible, and that the €1,000 was simply to secure our place.
Unfortunately, the planning application for the work we wanted to carry out was subsequently declined, so we contacted the company immediately to explain the situation.
Since then, the experience has been extremely disappointing. Both my husband and I have made numerous attempts to get an update regarding our €1,000. We were told that someone from the office would be in contact, but this did not happen. There has been no contract provided to us and, at the time of writing, we are still left without any clear communication about where matters stand.
€1,000 is a significant amount of money, and regardless of the outcome, I think it is reasonable to expect phone calls or messages to be answered and customers to be kept informed. What has been particularly disappointing is the contrast between the excellent communication before the payment was made and the difficulty we have experienced trying to get a response afterwards.
I am genuinely reluctant to leave a negative review because I understand the impact reviews can have on a business. However, after repeated attempts to resolve this directly, I feel it is important to share our experience so that other customers are aware before transferring a substantial amount of money.
We will now be pursuing the matter further in order to have it resolved.
