North Tipperary County Council is preparing to carry out a series of works as part of the Silvermines Rehabilitation Project.
Proposals have been put forward to demolish Waeltz Plant, as well as filling of Calamine open pit, erosion protection works, drainage improvement works and ancillary works at Ballygown.
Demolition is also planned for a crusher plant and other ancillary structures, regrading of unstable rock dump, fencing of mine heritage areas and ancillary works at Macgobar Mine.
An old hostel will be flattened and repairs to the existing settlement ponds and ancillary works at Garryard are planned.
Drainage improvement works, shaft safety works, fencing works, erosion protection
works and fencing of mine heritage areas have also been planned at Gorteenadiha.
Office and laboratory structures will also be demolished at Shallee.
