Funding has been granted for the development of new offices, a university centre and a community centre in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh.
Awarding the project almost €120,000, Éamon Ó Cuív, Minister for Rural Affairs, said Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhne Teo would now be able to clear the costs of professional fees associated with the scheme.
The Comharchumann’s first planning application was rejected but they have now found a new site and are hopeful of progressing the project.
Minister Ó Cuív said he was pleased his Department can help the Comharchumann cover the costs that they have incurred.
"I am happy that my Department is in a position to assist Comharchumann Forbartha Chorca Dhuibhe Teo to clear these costs relating to professional fees and I hope that this will enable them to push ahead with developments in the future," he said.
