Construction works on Derry's new multi-million pound Foyle footbridge could be hindered by disgruntled residents.
Locals halted works yesterday in protest at site access during the building scheme.
Browning Drive was blocked off by residents, who want the street left clear during progress on the £13.3m project.
According to Ilex, the development firm behind the plans, a compromise has been agreed.
However, Dennis Jackson from the area told the BBC that residents demanded a written guarantee that Browning Drive would not be used to access the building site.
He said the blockage would continue until an undertaking is provided by Ilex.
"They have ample space on the Ebrington Barracks site, which is 26 acres wide," he said.
"It is very unfortunate we were forced to take this action."
Aideen McGinley, Ilex's Chief Executive said terms had been agreed verbally, and that monthly liaison meeting have been held with residents.
Ms McGinley said he hoped the regeneration firm had established good communication with the community.
