Worker Dies In Kerry Quarry

A quarry worker has died following a work-related incident in Co Kerry.

The incident was reported at around lunch time yesterday, after the man, said to be in his 50s, was fatally injured at the Lispole site.

It is believed he was operating machinery at the Arkil Quarry at the time.

A post mortem is due to be carried out on the the man's remains at Kerry General Hospital.

The scene was cordoned off yesterday afternoon as Health and Safety Authority inspectors investigated the circumstances surrounding the incident.
