Repair works on a Leitrim bridge will force the closure of a nearby road, the county council has said.
Local authority officials said the road linking the townlands of Gulladoo and Fihoragh will be closed for six weeks to facilitate the upgrade of Gulladoo Bridge.
Major reconstruction and refurbishment works have been undertaken on the bridge, which rests on the Leitrim and Longford border.
The proposed closure is between Tuesday 1 December and Thursday 14 January 2010.
Leitrim County Council said alternative routes will be via the R203, through Coranagh and Arvagh, and local road LS 5593-0, through Drumury and Moyne.
Objections to the closure are being heard by the Director of Services, Infrastructure at Leitrim County Council in Park Lane House, Carrick-on-Shannon.
