A Cavan-based electrical firm has been shortlisted for a high-profile enterprise award.
Gilmore Clarke Electrical, from Cootehill, specialises in process control and automation for water treatment and waste water treatment plants.
The firm is one of eight finalists in the County and City Enterprise Boards' annual National Enterprise Awards.
The micro-enterprise award scheme, which takes place next Tuesday in Dublin, rewards the outstanding achievements of small businesses in Ireland.
The seven other finalists are Danelle Recycling, Carlow; D.S. Environmental Services, Donegal; Oldtown Hill Bakehouse, Kilkenny; Usher Aviation, Sligo; Robotic Drive Services, Westmeath; and Taoglas from Wexford.
"Through diversifying, innovating and identifying new export markets, these finalists are leading the way for other small businesses to follow," Christine Charlton, from the County and City Enterprise Boards, said.
Last year, Fergal Keogh and Sé Pardy from Simtech Aviation in Fingal were the overall winners.
Since winning the national title, the company has opened Ireland’s first aviation centre for excellence, creating new jobs.
