Over £215,000 is to be spent upgrading Housing Executive properties in Newtownabbey.
New kitchens will be installed at 61 homes in the Rathcoole area of the town.
Housing Executive District Manager Sharon Crooks said the improved facilities will be "designed to better suit the needs of everyday living".
"In planning the scheme, some rearrangement was made to the internal layouts to ensure best use of space and to improve facilities," she said.
"Tenants are also given a choice of units and worktop finishes. As well as installing new kitchens, the contract will include rewiring the kitchens and installing smoke detectors."
The contract is being carried out at Rathcoole Drive and the Avonlea area by Dixons Contractors.
The firm has already carried out similar work in the Rathcoole Close area of the estate.
"As Egan contracts, quality and consultation with customers are important and I am confident that residents whose homes are in this latest contract will also be pleased with the end result," said Ms Crooks.
"Representing £215,000 investment, this contract demonstrates our continuing commitment to tenants in Rathcoole, reflecting our proven track record of partnership working and achievement in past years in the area."
Chair of the District Housing Community Network, Murray Watt welcomed the works.
"The Housing Executive's regeneration work in delivering the Rathcoole Strategy over the past two decades has ably demonstrated their commitment to and support for this community.
"It's great to see these kitchen contracts on site, further evidence of that commitment."
