Lands in Co Monaghan have been rezoned under amendments to the Castleblayney town development plan.
Local authority plans were altered to rezone lands adjacent to the existing public sewage treatment works in the town from recreation or amenity use to civic, community or educational use.
The county council said the move was taken to facilitate the proposed expansion of the public sewage treatment works at Drumillard Little, Castleblayney.
Lands in the area have now lost their town centre usage status.
Changes were made under Section 13 of the Planning and Development Act 2000.
Meanwhile, the county council has proposed major road works for the R-178 to R-180 link road at Naferty and Cloughvally Upper, in Carrickmacross.
The proposed development comprises the construction of a new regional class road and the overlay of existing road.
Works will also involve the construction of junctions, as well as the provision footpaths, lighting, signage, services and other associated works.
Plans and particulars of the proposed development will be available for inspection at the offices of Monaghan County Council.
Objections or observations can be submitted before Wednesday 30 December.
