While it may not be blocking out spring sunlight, the dimensions of a new petrol forecourt under construction in Co Antrim are causing residents and planners concerns.
The NI Planning Service is now 'monitoring' the Greenisland construction site where local people have claimed the new petrol station's canopy is 'double the approved height'.
A local residents' group have successfully appealed to the planners over the replacement petrol station which is well underway in the Co Antrim village.
They also claim that a curved roof shown on original plans for the adjoining new supermarket has been dumped for a different pitched roof structure - again in defiance of the plans that were passed originally.
According to the local paper, the Carrickfergus Times, the Planning Service has responded to complaints and have declared they are "monitoring the site".
