There's building work on the way in coastal Co Donegal.
A planning application been granted for the building of a new multi-million euro coast guard center in Killybegs.
The Office of Public Works (OPW) applied to Donegal County Council for permission to build a new three-storey coast gaurd station with boat house and pollution control storage at the Rough Point, Killybegs Harbour.
The Killybegs Coast Guard Unite, which has 25 volunteers members, is located in one of Irelands busiest ports and also operates as a mountain and cliff rescue service.
The present building - which is over 20 years old - is not suitable for the unit's present needs as it has developed since joining the Irish Coast Guard and increased its resources.
he start date will depend on transferring control of the site from Fishery Harbours to OWP and necessary funding being made available.
