German discount store, Aldi has had a proposal to build a new store in Donegal Town rejected by An Bord Pleanala

The project was refused planning permission to renovate a retail warehouse in October last year, due to the concerns over the location of the proposed store.

Despite the company launching an appeal, this decision has now been upheld on the same grounds.

An Bord Pleanala ruled that the location of the store would not be within "comfortable walking distance" of the town centre.
