Dublin Bus is to reduce staff as part of wide-ranging plans to make its service more efficient, RTE has reported.
The company said 150 jobs would be shed through voluntary redundancy and natural turnover.
It also announced it is to change the majority of its routes over the coming months, following a year-long consultation.
Dublin Bus said the changes would increase efficiency and frequency, with a five-minute waiting time between services.
The overall number of routes is to be increased, but some existing routes will be straightened out with fewer diversions off quality bus corridors, while others will be combined.
The changes are scheduled to be implemented on a phased basis.
