The Irish Tánaiste and Education Minister, Mary Coughlan was on hand recently to open two news schools in Co Donegal as part of the €579m investment in this year's school building programme
Ms Coughlan opened the new €850,000 Scoil Náisiúnta Taobhóige in Cloghan.
The school consists of three classrooms, a multipurpose room, a staffroom and an office.
The Tánaiste also opened a €380,000 extension at Scoil Náisiúnta Cholmcille, Fintown
The school was allocated the funding €380,000 as part of the 2007 Small Schools Scheme, enabling it to build a new classroom, a resource room, library, office and a multipurpose room, and to refurbish the existing school.
The Government continues to make investment in education with more than €35 million having been directed into capital projects in Donegal since 2007.
The Tánaiste again reiterated that this year's school building programme demonstrated the Government's desire to continue investing in the productive capacity of the economy, to create construction jobs and to provide schoolchildren and teachers with the best educational environment in which to learn and work.
