A €6m warehouse extension to Becton Dickinson's premises at Pottery Road, are forging ahead with news that the mechanical and electrical sub-contractors have now been appointed for the works.
The contract involves the construction of a 3,082 square metre extension to the north-eastern side of the existing warehouse of the well known medical devices and diagnostics firm.
This development also includes the construction of a 48 square metres single storey transformer building and a 22 square metres single storey substation and metering building on the front (north eastern elevation).
All associated site development works will be provided.
Total floor space of any existing buildings equals 12,140 square metres; demolition works equals 619 square metres, works to be retained equals 11,521 square metres.
Work is currently progressing on site and is due to near completion during late February 2011.
The value is in the region of €6m and the architect is DMOD Architects, the electrical subcontractor Cross Electrical Waterford Ltd and the consulting engineer McElroy Associates and the mechanical subcontractor is Haughton and Young Ltd.
The main contractor is John Sisk and Son Ltd.
