The former US President Bill Clinton has been on a visit to Londonderry and Dublin this week to make a speech on how to build economic prosperity.
The trip is just weeks ahead of a Washington summit on the Northern Ireland economy, which will be hosted by his wife Hillary - now the US Secretary of State.
It will be held on 19 October to encourage American business leaders to invest in Northern Ireland.
This was the former president's first return trip since 2004 and this time, he met First Minister Peter Robinson and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness at the University of Ulster's Magee College where he delivered a keynote address to an invited audience.
Acting Provost of the university, Professor Deirdre Heenan said Mr Clinton's focus was on economic issues.
Mr Clinton then travelled on to Dublin after the engagement where he opened the Clinton Institute for American studies at University College Dublin.
The visit is at the invitation of the US Economic Envoy to Northern Ireland, Declan Kelly also attended Magee College for the event.
