Irish construction firm John Sisk has been awarded over €300 million worth of British contracts in the past nine months.
The projects include building an athletes village for the 2012 Olympic Games, and restoring the Weston-Super-Mare pier.
Liam Nagle, Chief Executive, said: "We have had a significant number of recent project wins across Britain and we have redeployed forty of our Irish employees to support them with the increased workload.
"SISK Group has been pursuing a strategy of sectoral and geographical diversification in recent years and this is paying dividends. While construction in Ireland has slowed, our construction business in Britain is making great strides. We are also continuing to grow our healthcare interests and are diversified into distribution and other sectors."
Paul Wilson, Managing Director, said: "We believe that we are showing clients in Britain the strength, experience and delivery that John Sisk & Son has been providing in Ireland for many years. We are focused on delivering a continued period of further growth."
