Claregalway Leisure Centre is to receive a grant of €10,000 for repair works according to Galway West Fianna Fáil TD Frank Fahey.

Deputy Fahey believes that this will make a big difference to the centre and everyone associated with it.

"The leisure centre has been looking for this grant for some time so I'm delighted that they have now received confirmation that money will be made available to them," said Deputy Fahey. "There has been an obvious need to carry out the proposed repair work and to ensure that the proposed improvements are made.

"Everyone involved in the leisure centre committee deserves immense credit for the hard work they have put in to secure this grant. They made a very strong case and I have no doubt this is what lead to the funding being provided. Cllr Malachy Noone also deserves thanks for the work he put in on this issue and all the effort him made to deliver this funding.

"Now that the grant has been approved I look forward to seeing the funding delivered and I hope that will lead to the repairs being made in the very near future."
