A stretch of road on the outskirts of Tullamore, Co. Offaly, will finally get a long overdue upgrade.
The road at Adams Villas, which is under the control of Offaly County Council, will undergo an improvement costing €100,000.
The solution to the problems on the road, which include drainage, is currently being drawn up.
Council engineer, Paul Devaney, said the local authority would most likely carry out work similar to a drainage project undertaken at the rear of Tullamore Harriers.
According to www.unearthore.com, the recent meeting in which the plans were approved also heard that a pedestrian crossing would be put in place on Convent Road in conjunction with the new footbridge.
