Dublin Bar Wins Planning Approval

Detailed plans for a new Dublin bar and restaurant have been approved by Dublin City Council.

Camden Street Taverns Ltd won approval in late April for the construction of a restaurant and bar at 7, 8 and 9, Camden Street Lower, Dublin.

The proposed works comprise the demolition of two existing three-storey buildings at No. 7 (including 7A) and No. 8 (including 8A) Camden Street Lower with the exception of their facades and the three-storey building to the rear of 8 and 9 Camden Street Lower facing Montague Lane.


The cleared site will allow for their replacement with a basement, ground, first, second and third floors with a restaurant, a cafe/bar, a beer garden and offices.

According to the website www.unearthore.com the development also includes kitchens and stores, terraces and a roof garden at 3rd floor level, rooftop plant room at 4th floor level and the change of use of the ground floor of no. 9 Camden Street Lower to cafe/bar entrance foyer including the replacement of the shop front, removal of suspended ceilings and the making of a new opening in the rear wall of no. 9, at 7, 8 and 9 Camden Street Lower.

The architect is Peter Oakes Architects and the consulting engineer is the O'Reilly Partnership.
