€100,000 Flood Alleviation Scheme

The main contractor has been appointed for the construction of the Mullinavat Flood Alleviation Scheme-retaining walls, embankments, barriers, Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny.

The Project to be carried out by V Plant Construction requires the construction of retaining walls, embankments and demountable barriers, the infill of the Mill Race, removal of material from King’s River and the construction of a low flow channel in King’s River.

Main construction work commenced on site during late June, 2011 and the contract period is estimated at 2 months.

The cost of the scheme is in the region of €100,000.
