€2m Tullamore Library Scheme Opens

Offaly County Council are hopeful of having a main contractor appointed in the coming months to look after the extension and refurbishment of Tullamore Library at O’Connor Square in the town.

The development, designed by local architectural firm Kenny Lyons Associates, will consist of the alteration and refurbishment of the existing library building together with construction of new front and rear extensions including demolition of existing buildings to the rear of the site, construction of new boundary railings and gates, landscaping and paving and associated site development works. the proposed development is within the curtilage of a protected structure.

The development which will be located on a .2 hectare site is expected to commence on site in Q4 2011 and take in the region of 12 months to complete. The existing library staff are expected to be relocated during the build.
