Despite opposition plans have been approved for a new supermarket in Limerick.
The part two-storey over part basement supermarket will be built in the Abbeyfeale area.
Although Limerick Council approved detailed plans on March 31 a third party appeal was submitted against the decision. The appeal was withdrawn at the beginning of September.
The project will now move forward. The demolition of the existing store and four houses will commence before the supermarket is built.
Provision of parking at ground level and the provision of parking at first floor roof-deck level will be tackled during the development. Modifications of the existing footpath and road layout to accommodate revised parking arrangements will also be made.
The Supermarket will be built to the design of PLM Architecture and the main promoter behind the project is Moquette Ltd.
