Contractors Wanted For Protected Building Refurb

Tenders are expected to be invited from a select list of contractors during late November for the proposed refurbishment of a protected structure.

According to www.unearthore.com Honan Home at Lovers Walk in Cork will be revamped to incorporate day care services for the elderly.

The development consists of the demolition of existing sheds to the rear, and the construction of an extension at the back of the Honan Home building.


It is understood that the extension will house two four bedroom apartments, two two bedroom apartments, and two one bedroom apartments for the elderly.

The extension will be linked at first floor level to the rear of the existing Honan Home building.

The demolition of ten chalet type housing units at the eastern side of the site will also be tackled to make way for the construction of a single storey block and one two storey block of sheltered housing.

These buildings will incorporate 27 single bed residential units for the elderly.

No further applications are being accepted for the construction work.
