German discount retail chain Aldi has unveiled plans to build a store in Charleville, North Cork.
The company has lodged an application with Cork County Council for planning permission to build a premises on the site of the former ESB area service centre at Main Street, Rathgoggin South.
The plan will incorporate the demolition of the existing building, to be replaced by a single story, 1,436 sq metre (gross), outlet on the site. The application also makes provision for 96 car-parking spaces, bicycle stands, revisions to the existing two access points from the N20 and other ancillary works at the 1.5 acre site.
Interested parties have until November 11 to make submissions with the council in relation to the application. A final decision is due from the local authority on December 1.
