SDLP Derry Cllr Thomas Conway has welcomed action from Roads Service to make safe a wall on Church Street in Claudy village.
Cllr Conway said: "I have been lobbying Roads Service for some time now to fix this wall and I am delighted that they have finally taken action to do so.
"This wall has been derelict and unsafe for a number of years as well as being an eye sore for people living in and passing through Claudy.
"Many schoolchildren, families and elderly people would use the footpath beside this wall as one of the main pedestrian entrances into the village and to access the play facilities in Cumber Park."
"When rebuilt, I am hopeful that it will make this area less hazardous for people to walk and it will make the village look all the more attractive. I would like to extend my gratitude to Roads Service for delivering on this matter."
