The NI Roads Service is being urged to immediately address the traffic bottleneck on Strabane's town centre.
SDLP Strabane District Councillor Patsy Kelly has called on the department to take action on the traffic congestion in the town's Bridge Street.
Mr Kelly outlined the negative impact this is having on local people, business and trade. He said: "The traffic problems around Bridge Street are, frankly, reaching critical mass and causing huge problems for the people of Strabane, not to mention those trying to enter the town from outside.
"When you have serious congestion on this scale, it has a knock-on effect for local businesses, not only because of time lost by staff caught up in jams, but in trade lost because of people being put off coming into town."
Kelly has pledged his commitment to seeing this problem resolved and expressed his concerns, suggesting that if left unattended the situation could deteriorate further.
