Construction Go-Ahead For Ennis National School

Clare Fianna Fáil TD Timmy Dooley has welcomed the go-ahead for construction to begin on a new school building for Ennis National School, following a long campaign by parents, teachers and management.

Deputy Dooley said: "This is a very good day for Ennis and students at Ennis National School. I want to thank the principal Ray McInerney, his predecessor Gary Stack, the Chairman of the Board of Management David Casey, Bishop Willie Walsh and successive boards of management for their important work on delivering this project to the construction phase.


"I was pleased to have worked with all concerned of the past five years to bring this project to fruition. Ennis National School has been serving a large and growing population and my party colleague Batt O'Keeffe when he was Minister for Education played a major role in recognising the needs of Ennis from the middle of 2008 and putting this project on a path to delivery."
