The tips given in the guide are intended to highlight the opportunities available and encourage managers and employees to easily and simply include energy efficiency and sustainability in their day-to-day business operations.
Liam Molloy, General Manager, Electric Ireland said: "Electric Ireland is working hard to empower our customers to make choices to suit their energy consumption and energy efficiency needs in these challenging times. A tool like the Office Energy Expert is free and easy to use. Companies do not need to incur large costs to make a real difference to their energy costs, with savings of up to 20% wholly achievable by using this tool."
The SEAI says that it is not unreasonable for a company starting out in energy management to achieve a 20% reduction in their energy bills by good housekeeping measures alone. An energy audit, such as that which the Office Energy Expert facilitates, reviews the energy usage, the setting of controls, unnecessary energy usage overnight and during week-ends etc. All of these things are invaluable to a small to mid-size company and the Office Energy Expert puts at their fingertips the tools to achieve this.
