SDLP Foyle MLA and Social Development spokesperson Mark H Durkan has welcomed the completion of the public realm scheme on the riverside in Derry City.
Funding for the work was committed when the SDLP’s Alex Attwood was Social Development minister.
Mr Durkan said: "It is fantastic to see this project, which was brought forward by SDLP Minister Alex Attwood during his time at DSD, come to fruition and praise must go to those within the Department who have helped roll it out.
"This will complement the other public realm work in Guildhall Square, the Peace Bridge and Newmarket Street which was initiated by Margaret Ritchie as Social Development Minister to make our city more attractive to investors and improve its image for people living here.
"In advance of City of Culture, DSD has also renovated business premises in Bank Place/Union Hall Place and Spencer Road making Derry better looking.
"These projects were all enabled by the SDLP’s commitment to Derry. I can assure the people of Derry that that commitment is unwavering."
