Cherrymount Link Road Scheme Is In Progress

As part of the A32 Cherrymount Link Road Scheme, a section of the B80 Tempo Road will be closed on Saturday 23rd June and Sunday 24th June 2012 in order to facilitate the completion of the new roundabout.

The B80 Tempo Road will be closed in the vicinity of the works, however local access will be accommodated. For all other traffic a diversion will be in place via the Lower Chanterhill Road.

Significant progress is being made elsewhere on the A32 Cherrymount Link Road scheme. Construction work is well advanced between the Coa Road and the Tempo Road and two new footbridges have been erected on this section. Road widening of the existing Cherrymount Link Road to the north of the scheme is also ongoing and treatment of the poor ground conditions in the middle section is progressing well.

The new road remains on target for completion and opening to traffic in early 2013.

Although these works are been carried out at the weekend in order to minimise traffic disruption and inconvenience, some delays are inevitable. Roads Service and the Contractor, McLaughlin and Harvey/PT McWilliams, would like to thank motorists for their continued patience and co operation to date.
