Cork County Council is warning a high tide is due in Cork today.

There will be a risk of flooding in vulnerable areas in Cork City prior to and after the tides due to a combination of low barometric pressure, tidal surge and prolonged heavy rain.

It is possible that flooding may occur on Morrisons Island, Union Quay,South Terrace, Georges Quay, Proby's Quay, French's Quay, Wandesford Quay, Sharman Crawford St., Coal Quay, Lavitt's Quay,Kryl's Quay, Kennedy Quay, Centre Park Road and Monaghan Road and the low lying areas of the City Centre.

Steps should be taken to protect properties.
