Minister for Health, Dr. James Reilly has officially opened the King's Island Primary Care Centre and launched the Primary Care Team.

King's Island Primary Care Centre, located on the North side of Limerick City adjacent to King John's Castle and other historical sites of Limerick, represents a substantial investment in providing health care in the region.

The new Primary Care Centre integrates a range of Primary Care services including General Practitioners, Community Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Community Dietician and Speech and Language Therapist.

All of the HSE services at the centre are available to the population of the catchment area, which includes Corbally and King's Island and patients of the four GP practices on the King's Island Primary Care Team.

Welcoming the new development, Bernard Gloster, HSE Area Manager, Mid-West, stated: "We are delighted to officially open this Primary Care Facility, which will greatly enhance the delivery of services within the area. This new Primary Care Centre will allow people in the area to access a range of Primary Care services within the one building."
