Cork County Council (CCC) is proposing to develop the infrastructure necessary for the start-up of a new Science Park located largely on a green field site on the Western suburbs of Cork City.
The proposed Science Park site falls between the Ballincollig and Bishopstown areas, immediately to the West of the Cork Institute of Technology (CIT) campus, in the townlands of Carrigrohane and Ballinaspig More.
The new access road serving the CSIP site, will head North from the N40 Curraheen Interchange (on the Ballincollig Bypass) crossing the Curraheen River in two locations before linking with the Western CIT boundary.
The construction of the CSIP access road is considered to be a key driver for the Science Park development.
A Public Exhibition of the route options for the CSIP access road is taking place on Wednesday, 7th November, 2012 in the Council Chambers, County Hall, Carrigrohane Road from 4.00pm. to 8.00pm.
