Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a £270,000 resurfacing scheme on the A8 Harbour Highway, Larne.
This latest scheme on the strategic trunk road to Larne will provide 1km of new asphalt road surface between Pound Street and Redlands Roundabout on the Belfast Bound carriageway.
The works are due to begin on Friday 21st June and will be completed over two weekends to minimise disruption to the travelling public.
The Minister said: "This scheme demonstrates my Department’s commitment to maintaining the existing main trunk road infrastructure in conjunction with the continued delivery of the new A8 Belfast to Larne Dual Carriageway."
Due to the available road width along the Harbour Highway flyover and the requirement to protect the safety of the travelling public and contractors it will be necessary to close the road during these works. The road will close from 6pm Friday 21st June to 6am Monday 24th June and also the following weekend at 6pm Friday 28th June to 6am Monday 1st July.
