There was good news for Strabane as funding of £200,000 for local derelict buildings was announced by SDLP Minister for the Environment, Alex Attwood according to local party Councillor Patsy Kelly.
She said: "I am delighted that in this round of funding that £200,000 has been allocated by Minister Attwood for derelict buildings in Strabane. Local people were disappointed when Strabane did not feature in the first round of funding so I am pleased that the town will benefit this time.
"I have continually met with and lobbied the Minister regarding Strabane and focused on the very positive outcome that improving derelict buildings will have on the image of our town and the impact on business, shoppers and tourists. I look forward to this work beginning as soon as possible."
