A resurfacing scheme on the Glen Road, Belfast, is due to begin on Monday 22 July.
The scheme involves the resurfacing of the footways and carriageway between Suffolk Road and Shaws Road and is expected to take six weeks to complete.
In order to provide a safe working environment and ensure the quality of the scheme, it will be necessary to close the Glen Road in one direction between Suffolk Road and Shaws Road to city-bound traffic for the duration of the works, and also to ban all turning movements in this direction from any of the side streets. This closure will remain in place 24 hours a day.
Country-bound traffic (including buses) will be accommodated on the Glen Road, with a signed diversion for city-bound traffic in place via Suffolk Road, Stewartstown Road, Andersonstown Road and Kennedy Way.
Coupled with this closure it will be necessary to ban parking along the Glen Road so that traffic travelling in the country-bound direction is not obstructed.
