Transport Minister, Danny Kennedy, has announced the start of a £350,000 resurfacing scheme for A26 Lisnevenagh Road, Ballymena.
The works will be from the UR79 Ballycowan Road to the UR 83 Tullynamullan Road and will entail 2.2 kilometres of resurfacing on the south bound dual carriageway.
The resurfacing is due to begin on Monday 2 September and it is planned that the works will last approximately two weeks.
The Minister said: "This further investment in the trunk road network in the Ballymena Council Area is very welcome and will enhance the vital role it plays within the economy."
To protect the safety of the travelling public and contractors during the surfacing works it will be necessary to introduce lane closures and a contra-flow system using the northbound carriageway during these works.
Lane restrictions and a 50mph traffic speed limit will remain in place for the duration of the works.
