Resurfacing Scheme To Begin On Omagh Road

Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy has announced that work will start on a £230,000 major resurfacing scheme on the Omagh Road, Drumquin.

Asphalt resurfacing work will commence on Tuesday 3 December 2013 on four sections of the Omagh Road, Drumquin between Dooish Road and Gillygooley Primary School.

The Minister said: "This scheme will greatly improve the strength and surface quality of the carriageway on this main route between Omagh and Drumquin."

Due to the restricted carriageway width available, and to help minimise any potential conflict between the site works and traffic associated with the travelling public, it has been necessary to close the B50 Omagh Road/Gillygooley Road to through traffic from 9.30am until 4.30pm each day for a period of 13 days from Tuesday 3 December 2013.

Diversions will be signposted as follows; Drumquin bound traffic from Omagh will be diverted via: A5 Beltany Road, C679 Drumlegagh South and B84 Baronscourt Road. Omagh bound traffic from Drumquin will be diverted via: B84 Dooish Road, B4 Drumlish Road and A32 Clanabogan Road. Local access is retained.
